Itasca County Historical Society Museum is at 201 N. Pokegama Ave. (US 169). Known for the Karjala Genealogy History and Research Center, the museum also includes the Garland Gallery, dedicated to Frances Ethel Gumm, who went on to show-business fame with a new name. The Ordinary People gallery features changing exhibits that spotlight local residents who have accomplished great things—like the area's reputation for producing championship hockey players. Other displays focus on Native Americans and county history. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
