Minneopa State Park is 3 mi. w. on SR 69 at 54497 Gadwall Rd. It features an 1864 gristmill and two large double waterfalls in a deep gorge. A walking trail encircles the falls, with a stairway descending to the Minnesota River Valley below. An interpretive exhibit in the vicinity of the falls can be seen from May through September. Hiking trails wind through oak savanna and prairie grassland habitats. Visitors also can view a small herd of bison from their vehicle on a drive-through range; the size of the herd will eventually number some 40 animals.
Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
