AAA Editor Notes
American Swedish Institute is at 2600 Park Ave. Throughout the intricately carved oak, walnut and mahogany interiors in the 33-room Turnblad Mansion are collections of Swedish glass, textiles and decorative and fine arts. Displays include immigrant artifacts, diaries and vintage recordings and contemporary exhibits from Sweden and the Nordic region.

Much like Sweden itself, the Nelson Cultural Center is an impressive blend of the contemporary and the historic, attached to a century-old mansion but equipped with a green roof, exhibit and gallery space, a delightful cafe with outdoor patio seating and a whimsical ceramic billy goat.

Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
