Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center is at 202 First Ave. N. The museum features the Hjemkomst, a 77-foot replica of an ancient Viking ship. Built by Robert Asp in 1982, the ship sailed more than 6,100 miles from Duluth to Bergen, Norway, and back. Photographs and a 28-minute film recount the voyage. Also on display is a full-scale replica of the Hopperstad Church in Vik, Norway. The 12th-century stave church is decorated with both Viking and Christian motifs. Traveling exhibits are presented in Heritage Hall. Clay County Historical Museum houses local history displays and temporary exhibits. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
