Harriet Alexander Nature Center is at 2520 N. Dale St. A variety of bird species and small mammals inhabit this wildlife haven. Exhibits include a colony of honeybees, a bird-feeding station and a children's hands-on corner. Theme gardens feature native prairie grasses, wildflowers and plants that attract butterflies. Trails and boardwalks provide access to the marsh, prairie and forest habitats that make up the 52-acre sanctuary.
Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
