James J. Hill House is at 240 Summit Ave. This Victorian-style mansion, once the home of the Great Northern Railroad founder, was built in 1891 and has 42 rooms. Interior features include carved woodwork, stained glass, 22 fireplaces, an art gallery with changing exhibits and a three-story pipe organ.
$10; $8 (ages 65+ and college students and military with ID); $6 (ages 6-17). Art gallery $2. Reservations are recommended for guided tours.
Hours: Wed.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 1-4, or by appointment. Guided tours depart on the half-hour Wed.-Sat. 10-3:30, Sun. 1-3:30. Closed major holidays.
