AAA Editor Notes
The Depot Museum is at 520 South Ave. The museum is housed in the 1907 headquarters of the Duluth and Iron Range Railway Co. Exhibits tell the story of early life on the Lake Superior shore, from rock and mineral displays and Indian and pioneer artifacts to railway, military, logging, fishing and mining implements. Also on display are two train engines: the wood-burning 3 Spot, the first engine used in the area; and a Mallett, one of the world's most powerful steam locomotives.
