Winona County History Center is at 160 Johnson St. It occupies two spaces: the 1915 Armory building and the contemporary Laird Norton Addition. Three floors of exhibits include a Winona County history timeline, Native American artifacts, Mississippi River history and commerce, and a children's exhibit featuring a cave, tepee and steamboat pilot house. Visitors also have access to the Laird Lucas Library and Archives.
$5; $3 (students with ID); free (ages 0-7).
Hours: Mon.-Fri. 9-5, Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-4. Archives Mon.-Fri. 10-noon and 1-5. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
