French Camp Historical Area is at French Camp Academy, off Natchez Trace Pkwy. mile marker 181 on LeFleur Cir. It comprises the 1840 dogtrot-style Huffman Log Cabin (now a pottery studio), a museum and visitor center, blacksmith shop, carriage house (with a 19th-century carriage), restored post office and the Federal-style, 1845 Col. James Drane House, built by one of the area's earliest settlers. Restored to the Civil War-era period, it is furnished with antiques.
