African American Military History Museum is at 305 E. 6th St. The museum, located inside one of America's only remaining African-American United Service Organizations (USO) Clubs, contains hundreds of artifacts, displays and photographs documenting 150 years of African-American military history. Highlights in the landmark building begin with the Buffalo Soldiers of the post-Civil War era and travel through such modern-day conflicts as Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Donations. Guided tour $1.
Hours: Wed.-Fri. 10-4, Sat. noon-4. Guided tours are available by appointment. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
