AAA Editor Notes
Eudora Welty House and Garden is at 1119 Pinehurst St. The celebrated author lived in this two-story, Tudor Revival-style house from the time it was built in 1925 until her death in 2001. Filled with furniture donated by her family and crowded with her books, the house is open for guided tours only. Visitors will see mementos Welty collected during her extensive travels, gifts from famous friends and the desk at which she wrote many of her internationally acclaimed short stories, novels, essays and memoir.
Outside, Welty's garden looks much as it did when she and her mother tended it in during the 1920s, '30s and '40s.
