Mississippi Museum of Art is at 380 S. Lamar St. Established more than a century ago, this museum's permanent collection comprises more than 5,000 works of art, making it one of the state's largest. Highlights include African-American folk art, photographs and works by Mississippi natives Walter Anderson, William Hollingsworth, Marie Hull, Eudora Welty and Karl Wolfe. Traveling exhibitions are presented regularly. The Art Garden is a 1.2-acre green space featuring outdoor installations.
