Merrehope and F.W. Williams Houses are at 905 Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Dr. The original 1858 Merrehope mansion, the back section of the present building, was one of six buildings left standing after Sherman's troops destroyed Meridian in 1864. Expanded in 1868, the 20-room Greek Revival house has a front door framed by etched ruby glass. The Queen Anne-style Williams House features leaded, beveled stained-glass windows and gingerbread trim. Both houses are furnished in period.
