AAA Editor Notes
Longwood is at 140 Lower Woodville Rd. Reputedly the largest octagonal house in the country, this brick residence—topped by a large, onion-shaped dome—was built in 1858 for Dr. Haller Nutt. Due to a lack of skilled labor, only the basement (where the family lived) was completed; the rest of the interior was never finished. The living quarters are furnished with heirlooms.
The house can be visited by guided tour only.
