AAA Editor Notes
The William Johnson House is at 210 State St., within Natchez National Historical Park. The restored 1840s home belonged to William Johnson, a freed slave and prosperous businessman whose 14-volume diary chronicles 16 years of his life in antebellum Natchez. Johnson himself eventually owned several slaves. The house includes an exhibit gallery and furnished rooms where the Johnson family lived.
