Pros: This is a lovely place to stay. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was delightful. We also took the tour of the house which was interesting. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend.
Cons: We didn't have a car and it was a little too far from the middle of town to walk. It was worth the taxi fares to stay in such a nice place though.

Pros: The stuffed French toast was out of this world. The cook is exceptional. Hal the Bellman made our stay so special. He is such a wonderful asset and makes you feel so welcome. It just wouldn't be the same without him. This was our second time at Monmouth. Everything is perfect there. Thank you again.

Pros: The mansion is beautiful and the tour is very informative and interesting. The staff was accommodating and friendly.
Cons: Our room was not in the mansion, it was behind the gift shop which we didn't know until our arrival. This was disappointing. The room was small and dingy. The dust and musty smell added to our disappointment. The room was very humid, so humid that the plaster was bubbling and moldy. Our skin was always damp. The bed was short and the dust accumulating on the canopy was disgusting. Everything including the carpeting needed renovating. While the grounds had the potential to be beautiful they were unkempt and needed expert grooming. It was somewhat tragic to see such magnificent surroundings slip into disrepair. The tour was informative and one could only imagine it's grandeur but was difficult seeing the slovenliness it reveals today. Also, tour guide was very unenthusiastic much like the rest of the stay.
