AAA Editor Notes
Cedar Grove is at 2200 Oak St. The mansion, built on the banks of the Mississippi River between 1840 and 1852, was damaged by shells from Union gunboats during the siege of Vicksburg; a cannonball remains lodged in a parlor wall. The house has a collection of period antiques and original furnishings, including a hidden safe and a Regina music box. The formally landscaped grounds feature gazebos, fountains and courtyards.
