Branson Scenic Railway departs from the depot at 206 E. Main St. Passengers enjoy a narration of the history of the area and the railroad as the 1940s and '50s rolling stock embarks on a 40-mile round trip of the scenic Ozark foothills, crossing bridges and passing through two tunnels. A dinner train also is offered (not recommended for ages 12 and under). Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
$27.50; $17 (ages 3-12). Dinner train fare $62.
Hours: Departures Mon.-Fri. at 9, 11:30, 2 and 4:30, June-July and 2 weeks in mid-Oct.; Mon.-Fri. at 9, 11:30 and 2, in May and on selected days from Aug. through Nov.; Mon.-Fri. at 11:30 and 2, Mar.-Apr. and on selected days in Aug.-Sept. and Nov.; otherwise varies. Dinner train departs Sat. at 5, Apr.-Oct. Polar Express train runs on selected days in Nov.-Dec. Phone ahead for schedule details on specific days.
