1859 Jail, Marshal's Home & Museum is at 217 N. Main St. This restored Civil War-era jail held such notorious characters as Frank James, William Quantrill and the Youngers. Also in the complex are the marshal's house, a local history museum and a one-room schoolhouse. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
$6; $5 (ages 55+); $3 (ages 6-16). Combination ticket with Bingham-Waggoner Estate, National Frontier Trails Museum and Vaile Mansion $20.
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 1-4, Apr.-Oct. and day after Thanksgiving-Dec. 30. Closed Dec. 23, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
