Inspector Pick (Eclectic/Unusual): I like checking out the array of theme suites, which are uniquely decorated and full of fun details. The Renaissance room is the most outlandish.
Twenty-two rooms have themes about Kansas City; some of the most popular are The Mob Room, The Monarchs Room and The Roasterie Room. Regular rooms offer standard amenities and some size restrictions. The Wayside Waif's theme room is the only room on the property that pets are permitted in.
Smoke free premises. 107 units. 6 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).
Cons: False advertising on having shuttle available all day to convention center. Had to uber, extra expense ☹
Great location, Great staff. Only...
Pros: The staff was absolutely great. The omelet bar and breakfast was nice. The bar is simple and straightforward but the bartender was nice and drink were strong.
Cons: Unfortunately, upon arrival we were sent to a room being worked on by maintenance and had to be relocated. The second room had makeup and dirt on sheets/pillowcases. Those had to be changed. They just remodeled and have barn style doors for the bathroom. Which is nice looking, but unfortunately anyone in your room can easily see in to the bathroom due to the door having space from the wall.
Good experience overall.
Pros: Great location, clean.
Cons: 3rd floor noise level affected our sleep, mostly from the hallway outside our room where a large party was being held.
Ok, for the night
Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: Bathroom door went off track and had huge gap, place was a little run down, shuttle is inconvenient
Stay was okay. Not great,...
Pros: Good breakfast. Free drinks were a nice touch. Friendly staff.
Cons: Need another mirror in the room. The one chair was very uncomfortable.
Just for some fun...don't take...
Pros: Rooms are fun and quirky. The hotel staff were delightful.
Cons: Not super clean. Breakfast is quite basic.
Good stay in Good Location
Pros: Free breakfast is a great option here. The omelets were slightly limited in choice of ingredients ( 2 meats, 4 or 5 vegetables and cheese ) but very tasty and well prepared. You have bagels, mini-muffins, bread, juice, coffee and tea available. There are cereals and other choices that I didn't take. Parking was ample. In spite of being in the middle of a refresh, the rooms and whole property were clean and we weren't impacted by the refresh. The rooms were amply sized. We were close to the Westport attractions, to the Crown Center and to Country Club shopping and restaurant. The staff was consistently friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Cons: The hotel was in a noisy entertainment district and it was noisy at night. I had trouble sleeping. The bathroom was large enough. But, first, there was no ventilation to clear the air whether of steam from the shower or odors. And, second the shower was remodeled, large and attractive. But it was slippery too. There were no railings, friction strips on the floor or anything else to keep you on your feet. And, there was no tub available if you need/prefer one.
Pros: Nice breakfast.
Cons: I had a very basic room and I was expecting one of the theme rooms. For the type of room I had, I could have stayed elsewhere for less. In fact, I cancelled another hotel which was 65.00 a night, in favor of this one which was 98.00/night. When I saw the room I realized I had made a poor decision.
Not a stellar review ,...
Pros: Free Happy Hour, breakfast , very good location. Staff was nice ! Good price.
Cons: Beds were small , uncomfortable, renovated rooms were still only partially renovated . Had to physically carry a refrigerator & chair up two floors in order to have in our room! Bathroom door wouldn't close well, unhinged
Decent not great
Cons: No screen on window/we were so hot we turned on Ac but was so loud couldn't sleep with it on-went to open the window and had no screen-scary with kids-the bathroom door very weird-slid and didn't really stay shut/also the shower had no door on half and you had to huddle under the water-not very hot or very good pressure -
A snazzy stop on the...
Pros: Snazzy, friendly, and an excellent location.
