Between traditional smoking and wood-fired grilling, this restaurant offers a different take on Kansas City barbecue. Sweeter than some and more rich, smoky-flavored than others, the choice meats here are served best on sandwiches or as a combination-style platter. Sides are very fresh; most are lighter and have good uses of citrus and fruit to accent the barbecue sauces and bring out a deep contrast of flavors. Try the brisket with apple slaw on the side, it's a lovely pairing.
