Powell Gardens is at 1609 N.W. US 50, just e. of jct. SR W. Visitors may walk or take a trolley to the Perennial Garden, featuring more than 500 varieties of plants; the Rock and Waterfall Garden; the Island Garden with a “living” wall; the Wildflower Meadow; and the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel. A 3.25-mile nature trail also traverses the 900-acre park. Horticultural displays are located in the Visitor Education Center. The 12-acre Heartland Harvest Garden is a vast edible landscape, featuring more than 2,000 types of food plants and the Fun Foods Farm youth garden.
