Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is s. on SR 13 to jct. SR 86, then w. about 2 mi. on SR 86 following signs to the park turnoff. Dogwood Canyon is a private refuge encompassing some 2,200 acres of Ozark wilderness. The terrain of ridges, hollows and limestone bluffs is honeycombed with caves and provides a backdrop for waterfalls, meandering streams and woodlands dominated by oaks, pines and cedars.
Activities include walking, hiking or biking along a 6-mile round-trip paved trail, trout fishing and horseback riding. A 2-hour wildlife tram tour winds along the canyon floor before crossing the Arkansas border to encounter herds of Texas longhorn cattle, American bison and elk that live in the park.
