New Madrid Historical Museum is at jct. Main and Water sts. Exhibits at the museum reflect the region's rich history, from Mississippian Native American culture to the early 20th century. Rooms are devoted to the 1811-12 earthquakes and the riverbend community's Civil War history. A collection of antique quilts also is displayed. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
