Surrounded by expansive grounds, this 370-acre, rustic resort sits on the banks of the Lake of the Ozarks. Room types vary from campy lakeside cottages to standard hotel rooms and upgraded suites. Recreational activities at this golf resort include tennis lessons and spa services with massages. "Tan-Tar-A" is a Blackfoot Indian saying meaning "one who moves swiftly." This name describes the rapid growth of the resort, which opened in 1960 with 12 lakefront cottages. By 1973 there were 465 rooms. Today, with over 700 rooms on 70 acres of rolling Ozarks foothills, extensive facilities and recreational activities, this resort is a family favorite and a popular spot for large corporate groups.
