Katy Depot Historic Site is at 600 E. Third St., 1.6 mi. e. of US 65. The Katy Depot is a reminder of the industry and prosperity that the railroad brought to Sedalia as well as rural central Missouri. The re-created buildings on the site, including a ticket office, lunch room, dining room and women's waiting room, contain original furniture and flooring. In the women's waiting room, speaking mannequins activated by motion sensors portray two people who worked at and traveled through the depot. Several railroad-themed works of art are on the grounds.
Reservations for guided tours are required at least 2 weeks in advance.
