The Griot Museum of Black History is at 2505 St. Louis Ave. The museum depicts the lives and contributions of African Americans in the United States from the earliest days of slavery through the 20th century. Life-size wax figures of notable African Americans with a Missouri connection include Dred and Harriet Scott, Dr. George Washington Carver and Miles Davis. A collection of historical items includes artifacts, documents and a scale model of a slave ship.
