Jefferson National Expansion Memorial is on the riverfront at Market St. This 91-acre national park, which covers the site of the original St. Louis settlement, was established in 1935 to commemorate St. Louis' role in the westward expansion of the United States during the 19th century. The site includes The Gateway Arch, Museum of Westward Expansion, and Old Courthouse.
Park, museum and courthouse free. Admission is charged at the arch.
Hours: Park daily 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Hours vary for individual sites.
