Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum is near the corner of Skinker and Forsyth blvds. at One Brookings Dr., on the Danforth Campus at Washington University. This architecturally impressive building holds an equally impressive collection of 19th-, 20th- and 21st-century art and sculpture. Highlights include paintings by Willem de Kooning, Thomas Eakins, Marsden Hartley, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso. Computers, video and digital installations are among the various technologies incorporated into the museum's multimedia works. Cutting-edge special exhibitions are presented regularly.
The Newman Money Museum, on the building's lower level, outlines the history of money and displays rare coins and currency.
