Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site is off SR 30 (Gravois Rd.) at 7400 Grant Rd., adjacent to Grant's Farm. The 9.65-acre site, historically known as White Haven, was the core of the farm purchased by Ulysses S. Grant and his wife, Julia Dent Grant, from her family during the Civil War. The grounds include five historic buildings: a two-story residence, a stable, a chicken house, an icehouse and a summer kitchen. Inside the stable is an interpretive museum displaying exhibits about the Grant family and the residence. The adjacent visitor center offers a 16-minute introductory film.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
