AAA Inspector Notes
This restored upscale boutique hotel boasts impressive architecture throughout the public areas. Many complimentary extras are offered, such as an evening reception with beer, wine and soft drinks. This historic, landmark property was originally built in 1924 and restored with a multi-million dollar renovation, only recently reopening its doors. Over the years it played host to many famous guests, such as Lyndon B. Johnson and Cary Grant, who even has a suite with his name on it. The property claims to be the first to begin the 'chocolates on the pillow' trend at turn-down, instituted when it originally opened. Smoke free premises. 182 units. 18 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Pros: Cookie and Milk Bar at night. I missed it, but that's pretty cool.

Pros: The room was clean and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. They placed chocolate candy on our pillows and several bottles of water on the server.
Cons: We had to go to another floor for ice. There was only one robe in the room for guest to borrow. And parking was at another hotel.

Pros:
Cons: I will never stay at this property again, there is no parking! The room was dirty and the hotel hides it's age through poor attempts at using inexpensive "upscale" furnishings. There is no vending machines and the onsite restaurant was overpriced and limited on selections. Our room had towels that had been used to remove makeup hanging still decoratively folded, yet visably used nontheless. There was an open box of Trolls fruit snacks in one of the dresser drawers and the carpet was hard and sticky from where something had been spilt prior to our stay!!! Do yourself a favor and stay at the Marriott next door or one of the hotels near the Arch/riverfront next to citypark.
