Mineral Museum, at 1300 W. Park St. in the Museum Building of Montana Tech, exhibits more than 1,500 specimens, including fluorescent minerals, a gold nugget considered to be the largest in Montana and a 400-pound quartz crystal found near Butte. Other features include Montana fossils and information related to the state's geology.

Hours: Daily 9-5, June 15-Sept. 15; Mon.-Fri. 9-4, rest of year. Closed major holidays.
