Custer Battlefield Museum is at 4185 Garryowen Road, on the site of the Battle of the Little Bighorn, which pitted the U.S. Army's seventh cavalry against Lakota, Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians in 1876. The tomb of an unknown soldier killed in the battle as well as photographs and artifacts pertaining to Plains Indian culture and the seventh cavalry are displayed. Personal effects of Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and Lakota leaders Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull may be seen.
