Big Horn County Historical Museum and State Visitor Center is 1 mi. e. off I-90 exit 497 to 1163 3rd St. E. The 35-acre complex features 26 historic buildings, including a 1911 farmhouse and barn, a Native American log cabin, a railroad depot, a doctor's building, the Will James studio and a church. Exhibits about Fort Custer, Plains Indians, and restored tractors and automobiles also are on display. The main building contains a library, educational rooms, a gallery and a state visitor center. Picnicking is permitted.
$6; $5 (ages 60+); $3 (ages 7-18).
Hours: Museum open daily 8-6, Memorial Day-Labor Day; Mon.-Fri. 9-5, rest of year. Outbuildings open Memorial Day-Labor Day only. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
