Wahkpa Chu'gn Buffalo Jump is on US 2 behind the Holiday Village Mall. Pronounced “walk-paw chew-gun,” an Assiniboine name for the Milk River, this prehistoric buffalo jump site was occupied by three separate cultures from 355 to 2,000 years ago. A 45-minute guided walking tour features exposed campsites and buffalo bone deposits as deep as 20 feet below the surface. An off-road vehicle transports visitors from the Interpretive Center to the physically impaired accessible site area.
Guided tours are available.
