Heritage Museum is at 34067 US 2. A 12-sided log building contains exhibits about mining and forestry along with historical information about the Kootenai Indians, explorer David Thompson, local participation in World War II and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Wildlife displays, as well as rotating art, quilt and photography exhibits in the Tower Gallery, also can be seen. Outbuildings include an 1800s log cabin, a miner's cabin and the cookhouse from the Sylvanite Ranger Station. Archives are available by appointment.
