AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Classification): I love to escape to this quiet hotel. One of my favorite things to do here is to relax with a book and a cocktail on their large deck in the summer.
Founded in 1910 by a purchasing agent for the Milwaukee Railroad, this historic hotel has been restored in a Western theme with wood accents and floors in rich hues. Nicknamed the "Sac," this property has spruce beams in the 14-foot ceilings and is decorated in the Arts and Crafts style. The large porch has comfortable chairs, perfect for relaxing on summer evenings. Many guests may enjoy one of the seven new modern cottages recently added.
Did not meet all AAA rating requirements for locking devices in some guest rooms at time of last evaluation on 02/08/2018. Facilities, services, and décor characterize a mid-scale property.
