Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park is 7.3 mi. e. on SR 2 to 25 Lewis and Clark Rd. Dedicated in 1941, Montana's first state park includes a limestone cavern of vaulted chambers, intricate passageways and delicate, varicolored formations that make this one of the most beautiful caverns in the country. On the surface, 10 miles of hiking trails showcase the rugged site's 3,000 acres.

Note: The 2-hour guided cavern tours involve walking a total of 2 miles and require visitors to negotiate 600 (mostly descending) steps; full mobility is required and rubber-soled shoes are advised. Because the cavern temperature remains around 50 F, a jacket is recommended. Pets are not permitted in the cavern.

Guided tours are available. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted.
