AAA Editor Notes
Bechtler Museum of Modern Art is at 420 S. Tryon St. at the Levine Center for the Arts. The museum's collection, privately owned by the Bechtler family of Switzerland before being bequeathed by art patron Andreas Bechtler, features such mid-20th-century artists as Alberto Giacometti, Jean Tinguely, Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Andy Warhol and Le Corbusier. The striking building is itself a work of art; it features a cantilevered gallery on the fourth floor supported by a column rising from the plaza below, and a soaring glass atrium that suffuses parts of the interior with natural light.

Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
