Classic. Since 1952, this family-run eatery has been serving down-home Southern fare, including eastern North Carolina-style pork barbecue in a spicy vinegar sauce. The menu is lengthy, with fried and barbecue chicken, fried seafood, sandwiches, and such classic dishes as meatloaf, country-style steak, fried chicken livers, chicken 'n dumplings, and pot roast. Pecan pie is a fixture on the menu. Stop by the ATM before visiting; they do not accept credit cards. While you wait for a table, scan the wall of autographed photos to see how many of the famous faces you recognize of folks who have dined here over the years.
