Trailside Museum of Natural History is on the grounds of Fort Robinson State Park, 3200 US 20. Interpretive exhibits depict the geologic history and wildlife of the area, which is noted for fossil remains. One of the museum's most interesting displays is the fossils of two Columbian mammoths that died while locked together in battle. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$3; $1 (ages 5-18); $6 (family, two adults and children). Parking: $5.
Hours: Daily 9-6, Memorial Day-Labor Day; Thurs.-Sun. 10-5, Apr. 1-day before Memorial Day and day after Labor Day-Oct. 31; by appointment rest of year.
