Fort Kearny State Historical Park

Fort Kearny State Historical Park is 3.5 mi. s. on SR 44 from I-80 exit 272, then 4 mi. e. on CR L-50A. The grounds of Fort Kearny include a stockade replica and a reconstructed sod blacksmith shop and powder magazine. A visitor center has artifacts of the fort and a video. A self-guiding walking tour of the fort's 40-acre grounds begins at the visitor center.

The park is a good site from which to view the sandhill crane migration early March to early April.
