Ash Hollow Visitors Center is near Ash Hollow Cave at Ash Hollow State Historical Park, 3 mi. s.e. on US 26. Displays depict the history of the prehistoric people who inhabited the area 7,000 to 8,000 years ago and include fossils of prehistoric mammoths, mastodons and rhinoceros. A 13-minute video is offered. On the grounds are a restored 1903 schoolhouse and a nature trail.
