Dawson County Historical Museum is e. on US 30, then 3 blks. n. to 805 N. Taft St. A Military Hall of Honor, Agriculture Hall, the Lincoln Highway and Dawson County Mainstreet are featured. Highlights include antique cars, bones from a 15,000-year-old Columbian mammoth and a 1917 McCabe “Baby Biplane”. Outdoors, visitors can see a one-room schoolhouse, a log cabin, a 1903 Baldwin locomotive and a depot. The museum also houses an art gallery, library and archives.
