Sheldon Museum of Art is at 12th and R sts. on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. A comprehensive collection of American art is housed in a building designed by noted architect Philip Johnson. Alexander Calder, Jun Kaneko, Lee Krasner, Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe and Philip Rothko are among the artists represented in the museum's 12,000-piece collection, which highlights American Impressionism and new trends in contemporary art.
A campus-wide sculpture garden contains nearly 40 pieces by 20th- and 21st-century artists.
