AAA Editor Notes
Neligh Mill State Historic Site is on N St. at Wylie Dr. This is one of the few remaining water-turbine flour mills of its time with its original equipment intact. It once supplied flour to Native American reservations in South Dakota and to Nebraska military posts. From 1900-1920, the mill operated 24 hours a day, six days a week, had a daily peak production of 98,000 pounds of flour and generated electrical power. During World Wars I and II the mill produced flour for the war effort. The 1873 mill's history and operation is depicted through exhibits and a 15-minute video presentation.
