Mormon Station State Historic Park is off US 395, then w. on SR 206 (Genoa Ln.) to Foothill Rd. It contains a restored log stockade and a replica of the original 1851 trading post where pioneers often rested before continuing over the Sierra Nevada to California. The former trading post has been converted into a small museum. Exhibits focus on the history of Mormon Station, Genoa's original name and the surrounding area.

Picnicking is permitted.

Grounds daily dawn-dusk. Museum daily 10-4, May-Sept.; Wed.-Sun. 11-3, rest of year. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
