Desert National Wildlife Refuge

Desert National Wildlife Refuge, 16001 Corn Creek Rd., encompasses more than 1.5 million acres and is home to hundreds of animal species, though many are nocturnal. Spotting bighorn sheep is a highlight. The visitor center has exhibits and also shows screenings of a film about the area. Camping and hunting opportunities are available.

Note: Phone ahead for road conditions in the refuge, and be aware of local weather as flash floods are a concern. High-clearance vehicles with four-wheel drive are recommended.
