National Atomic Testing Museum, 755 E. Flamingo Rd. on the first floor of the Frank H. Rogers Science and Technology Building, features both changing and permanent exhibits relating to the history of the Nevada Test Site. The experience includes first-person narratives, interactive displays and environmental re-creations. Iconic artifacts include a piece of the Berlin Wall and an I-beam section from the World Trade Center. Tests at the site were conducted 1951-92. Area 51: Myth or Reality presents insights into what went on there, and you can decide for yourself if it strengthens or weakens the case for the existence of UFOs.
$22; $18 (ages 62+, and students, active military and Nevada residents with ID); $16 (ages 7-17); $65 (family, two adults and three youth ages 7-17).
Hours: Mon.-Sat. 10-5, Sun. noon-5. Last admission 1 hour before closing. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Allow 2 hours minimum.
