This was (I believe) the third time we have stayed here over the years and it has everything you could want and is within walking distance of many other places. There is a monorail that goes quite a way down the strip (for a price of course) and the bus that goes to Fremont Street and the older parts is within walking distance of the hotel. There is everything you could want or need close by.
Pros: Location is key, staff is friendly and for the most part helpful. You could, if you wanted, stay inside and never need to go anywhere else. Would be foolish as there is so much to see and do, but you could do that. The restaurants are many and varied and appeal to all tastes. Not cheap (a side of pasta with chicken parm in one restaurant was $12 - and there might have been 12 pieces of rigatoni), but food was delicious. We ate in 3 or 4 different places within the hotel. Because of the weather we had to stay an extra two nights at the hotel as we could not get flights back to Boston. They were super accommodating and that made a world of difference.
Cons: We forget what it is like to be in a place where more people smoke than do not so the smoke does get to you. The MGM is not as bad as some of the smaller casinos as it has more room to spread out in, but it is there and you do smell it (your clothes need to be aired out thoroughly once you leave) and you can feel it in your throat after a day or so. One thing that was disturbing (and unusual) was when we checked in there were NO amenities in the room, no soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc. Nothing. It was the middle of the night so waited until the AM to get them from a housekeeper. I do not know whether that is now the norm and if you ask you get or if it was overlooked. Also no room safe, I am pretty certain they had them in the rooms on our other trips but could be wrong. Or perhaps now you have to ask and pay for them. A minor annoyance, but an annoyance.

Great location and clean. However, the shower handle was broken, and my toilet was also broken.
Pros: Great staff, clean and great food on-site!
Cons: Multiple issues with my bathroom.

We had an amazing time. The hotel was fantastic and all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had my hair and makeup done at the salon/spa and I've never felt so beautiful!
Pros: Friendly staff, beautiful clean rooms, the salon/spa/pool was very relaxing.
Cons: I hate feather pillows, and it took FOREVER for the water in the shower to get hot.

Cons: Pool area was overcrowded
